If potential customers don't know or understand what we do, we're clearly not going to win business from them. Although broking is common in the financial sector (mortgage and insurance broking, for example), many people haven't come accross broking commodities like print.

There are many print brokers in the industry but most try to cover up what they actually do and market themselves as printing companies in their own right. Here at London Print Brokers, we're open and honest about what we do and once our business model is explained to them, potential customers invariably buy into the concept once they understand the benefits of dealing with a broker. It's because print brokers often apply a veneer that print broking is relatively little understood.

So, a potential customer whom we approach - if they don't understand the print broking model - needs to be enlightened as to what we do in order to realise the benefits which we can represent to them. Our website explains it all but most people don't have time to read into the concept in that much depth.

A more efficient way of conveying our message is face-to-face but we appreciate that many prospects simply don't have the time for us to pay them a visit. And so we had the idea of recording a video and posting it on our website. You can view the video here. Whenever a potential customer doesn't have time to meet us, or thinks that they may not benefit from our services, we recommend that they watch our video. Many have and subsequently become customers.

For London Print Brokers, having the video online is the next best thing to making a face-to-face presentation to a prospective customer. We're finding that often the former leads to the latter and when we meet our prospects in person, it's as though they know us already.
